Nivruti Rai Leaves Intel India, Appointed CEO of Invest India
After dedicating 29 years to the chip-making company, Intel India’s leader, Nivruti Rai, has resigned from her position. She is expected to take on the role of MD and CEO at Invest India.
In his most recent role, he was the Country Manager for India and Head of Intel Foundry Services.
“We are grateful to Nivruti for the tremendous progress Intel India has achieved under his leadership,” the company said in a statement to IANS on Friday.
“Intel India is now our largest engineering site outside the US and a critical talent pool for the company. We will have more to say soon about Intel India’s leadership plans and wish Nivruti all the best in the next chapter,” Intel India added.
Rai started at Intel as a design engineer in 1994 and continued in various positions for 29 years.
Invest India is a non-profit organization under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce.
Last year, Intel India inaugurated a state-of-the-art design and engineering center in Bengaluru.
“This state-of-the-art center provides our employees with a great environment to innovate while enjoying an energetic and collaborative workplace. This also helps advance our contributions and capabilities in leading products that enable innovation and growth for customers,” said Rai.
India is home to the company’s largest design and engineering center outside the US, with state-of-the-art engineering facilities located in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
As announced in June last year, Intel has invested over $8 billion in India so far and continues to expand its R&D and innovation footprint in the country.
